Following Auburn’s 60-10 win against the Akron Zips, Tank Bigsby’s impressive performance has answered the question of if the former SEC freshman of the year will pick up where he left off. Last Sunday Bigsby ran for 119 yards on 13 carries, two of which were touchdown runs. The running back’s successful night showcased a number of his talents but also shed light on the talented offensive core the Auburn Tigers have as they begin their 2020-2021 season.
This offensive explosion was nothing short of a blowout, something that didn’t necessarily surprise Bigsby. "After all the hard work we put in — we worked our tails off all summer with the same plays, working over and over again on the same plays," he said. "We got the little things right. So it was no surprise."
While Akron is not the most difficult opponent on Auburn’s roster, a win with this margin of victory at home is certainly a statement to teams on the Tigers’ schedule. A real test for the Tigers won't come until September 18 when they face off against number 11 ranked Penn State.
